Heatwave and three days off.
I totally walked out of the gym tonight into the 37-degree air and thought – “Woah. Heatwave.” It’s supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow! I can’t wait!
Additionally, this three-day weekend could NOT have come at a better time. Literally, the best timing ever.
So my workout today was a 7mi. recovery run. I slept through my alarm today (or, somehow managed to turn it off in my sleep…) so I knew I had to get the run in later today. I had a sneaking suspicion that I wasn’t going to be leaving the office early this afternoon, so I opted to use my lunch hour for a quick 3 miles, and figured on finishing out the final four with Jeremiah after work.
The decision to sleep in was a good one. I actually (apparently) fell asleep on the couch last night, not to be disturbed. I woke up to this…
It says “Woke you up and [you] said let me sleep. <3 Steven”
Precious. I guess I was in a coma or something.
Anyways, I got to the gym around 4:20 and Jeremiah had to leave! Luckily, I only had 4 miles to go. Even more luckily, Steven’s cousin Carrie showed up when I was 2 miles in! I ended up running a total of 8 miles instead of 7 today and walking another 2 while I talked to her on the treadmill. I haven’t seen Carrie since Thanksgiving and it was great to catch up!
So, this happened today too…

Also, look at the journal I’ve been using this year for my running. It’s the coolest. It’s Lauren Fleshman’s journal and it’s SO much more than a running log. There are tips for runners, motivational quotes, etc. It’s a perfect way to log my miles and I look forward to jotting down my workouts in it every day.
Ok that’s all. Randomness. But I’ve gotta eat. Long run tomorrow. Night!
