Expect the Unexpected and Brazil.
TGIF guys, I am definitely ready for the weekend.
Workout
Today was an off day, but yesterday I had a decent run:
Mile 1 – 8:16
Mile 2 – 7:09
Mile 3 – 7:10
Mile 4 – 7:02
Mile 5 – 7:06
Mile 6 – 7:06
Mile 7 – 8:03
Mile 7.5 – 6:37mm pace
Total Time – 55:23
Avg. Pace – 7:21mm
Once again, just trying to get some PMP segments in! It doesn’t always feel great — my hope is that more practice and proper tapering and fueling for Huntsville will allow me to maintain a 7:10 or better pace for the duration of the marathon. Of course, when I’m plopped on the couch, I always feel like I’m capable of pushing myself through 26 miles of it. When I’m running through — now that’s a different story.

I don’t know when I turned into such an old lady, but I’m seriously exhausted by 5 p.m. EVERY night. It’s like I just can’t wait to get home to watch TV. Today, I expected to be able to leave work a little early. I did not expect the end-of-the-day influx of work that kept me there slightly after hours. Of course, I should know better. Always expect the unexpected, right?
Expecting the unexpected is why I run in the mornings. When I put my run off until the afternoon, something always comes up that gets in the way. Weirdly, nothing ever comes up at 5 a.m., so there aren’t a lot of excuses outside of sheer pain to bail on a morning run.
So I’ve been totally bogged at work lately with getting things ready for Brazil, and I’m just getting more and more excited every day. I was looking at our hotel in Rio today…

Dying. Dead. Send. Help.
Ok, so two more dresses on sale from Nasty Gal — I’m THINKING of buying ONE MORE for Brazil. Just one. I mean I have a lot of dresses so, I probably don’t need to buy any more. I’m just looking for light, one-piece outfits because of the whole, packing limitations.

Torn. So torn. I HAVE a couple of black maxis though, so I guess I should probably go with the blue. I’ll just think of it for another minute or so.
Alright, people — tomorrow is the Haunted Half Marathon and it just so happens that I am not running it. Everyone else is, but races stress me out. They always have given me some nerves, but since Winchester a few weeks ago I am having some serious anxiety about racing at any distance at this point.
I do plan on running long tomorrow, and also on cheering for the Haunted Half finishers. Thus, it’ll be an early morning, so I should probably get some sleep. Night!
